Brief summary of activities

Awareness Sessions

CRDO has organized 02 Awareness Session in different Villages of targeted Union Council. Out of Two Sessions CRDO also organized one female Session (separate). In Male session the Male trainer conduct the session in which total 42 formers attend the session from different villages. Keeping in view about the culture respects of the area the Female Session separately conducted in which total 17 Females attend the Session. But in the future the team will built up good relation with the community and then will try to involve more females. The Male Session facilitated by male facilitator and Female session Facilitated by the Female facilitator. In each 03 hr. session conducted and 01 hr. is specified for the question answer session to take inputs from former and provide more information for the former.

During the whole session the Trainer focused the seasonal crops and needs of the small formers and briefed about that how climate affect their forming.

Focus Group Discussions (FGD’s)

CRDO called Focus Group Discussions (FGD’s) among farmers to address knowledge gaps in the agriculture and water management in the context of climate change adaptation. We also discuss the about the linkages among Government departments to raise their issues about our needs and take valuable suggestions from them.

Before the training session CRDO team conducted two FGDs one with Male and one with Female to identify their awareness needs and assess them accordingly.

Challenges/ Issues:

  • Due to wheat cropping season all the Former involve in cropping so the strength in the training session is quite low
  • In the Rural areas the female participation is quite difficult to attend such type of session but we try hard to involve some of these who belong to small forming families
  • All the formers are involved in cropping so we get it into the lands in which cropping in progress so they mostly don’t have the CNIC and other measurable identities.
  • The area is mostly belonging to waterlogged area and the Budget is limited so due to this we face challenges.
